Psalm 112:1, 2 (NLT)

Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed.

INTRODUCTION: (Give time for response and sharing)

Ask your family:

Have you heard the latest news?

What have you heard?

How do you feel as you hear what is happening?

Nowadays, when we see news on television or social media, most of the time the news is bad.

Imagine that suddenly we received news on televeision or social media that someone had found the cure or antidote for the Coranavirus (COVID-19).

How would you feel as you listened to this?

How do you think people would feel?

I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS FOR YOU!

1. FIRST, JESUS IS STILL THE BEST REMEDY FOR THE WORLD.

The biggest problem in humanity is not physical illness or the ecomony. It is sin.

Do you know what sin is?

Sin is everything that opposes the will of God. (example: lies, pride, hate)

Because we are sinners, the Bible states that we deserve to die because of our sin:

Romans 6:23 “for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

The second part of this verse tells us that thanks to Jesus dying for us, we are free from guilt and have eternal life in Christ Jesus.

2. NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS WE WILL NOT FEAR WHAT COMES

Psalm 112:1 God says that whoever fears Him is blessed.

Do you know what it means to fear God? (it is not fear but respect)

Those who fear God know God, His Word and as stated in verse 1b (NTV): “delight in obeying his commands.”

Do we fear God?

Do we know God?

Do we know His Word?

Do we delight in obeying Him?

SO WHY WORRY?

If we fear God, His Word states we are blessed but also verse 7 states “They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.”

CONCLUSION: While the world lives in panic and anguish, as children of God, we live peacefully. We do not need to fear. God is in control.

How do you feel knowing this?
Would you like to give God thanks for His word?
